Lex Luthor Kryptonite Ring

Look extra ominous with this powerful statement of "Superman? ...I fear no Superman!" As you take over the world in your sleak suit. This ring was created for a Lex Luthor costume to wear to the premiere of Batman: The Dark Night, but you could wear it as any Superman-fighting D.C. character. Or yourself!

Materials:
1. Industrial-strength metal emery board
(plausible subsitute: sander with sharp edge)
2. Plyers (for convenience)
3. Gold tinsel, like for a Christmas tree... yes really.
4. Scissors
5. Glue
6. Medium-Large size key ring (depending on finger size)
7. Gold nail polish
8. String (I used yellow and orange)
9. One cool, Kryptonite-lookin' green bead.

Note: Most of the things I use to make crafts with I find around the house. I know this makes me, and my family very strange. Stop e-mailing me to tell me I'm wierd!

Instructions: I know not everyone has an industial emery board (far left) [picture], and if you can't find one in your garage then get a sander, or sand paper folded over a block. You're creative, I know you can figure it out. So once you've chosen your Kryptonite bead and positioned it, finding the top [picture], use your sanding device to make indents in the sides to secure it in the key ring. (showing indent shape: [picture]) Here's a better view of the emery board [picture]. Then use the Plyers to hold the key ring open [picture] as you pop the bead into position [picture]. Add glue to the sides of the key ring [picture]. Then wrap the gold tinsel around it [picture]. Add glue [picture] and one or two more layers of tinsel [picture]. Then smother it in glue again [picture].

Note: This is not the final step for the sides. It won't look like this when you're done.

SIZE CHECK! Slip on the ring and adjust it to your size by filing the bottom of the bead until it's a good fit. Top view: [picture] Side view: [picture]. Now use the string, you can use any color you want really. Wrap the string around the ring on the sides or the bead [picture]. Get out your gold nail polish and give that tinsel 2 or 3 nice thick coats of it [picture]. Then hang it from a string or a hook and let it dry for a while. Tada! [Final Product]

Space says, "You're finished Supe!"
Have fun taking over the world, kiddies!
