Ocarina of Time Review
10.00Reviewer: Deku Link.
Has beaten it: Yes.

A giant milestone in the not just the Zelda community, the the entire gaming community as well. Most of all Zelda fan's first game, this game was revolutionary in everyway. If it were released today, the only bad critisizm it would get would probably be the graphics; even though they were the best at the time. With a huge environment and story, we often take for granite just how huge this game is. Nintendo even had to make an extension to the memory for it. Sometimes when I play it, I still discover new things that after ten years, I still never found; and I think to myself, "This was here ten years ago?" A few things that make it so revolutionary are the horse riding, the [Z] targeting, and the massivly immersive story. First off the [Z] targeting is the first of it's kind. Many games use similar targeting techniques from the [Z] targeting OoT had to offer. Also, the horseback riding was amazing for it's time. I'm not sure, but I can't think of any game with horse riding before it. Also, being able to shoot arrows while your on Epona put it over the top. Probably the reason why it was so original is because they had nothing to copy off of. Making it hard to think of original games. Still every once in a while we see that new game that everyone wonders why nobody did this before. On to the scores:

Gameplay- 10.0
The gameplay kept the original Zelda games' feel but bringing it into the 3rd dimension. They did it flawlessly. And when I saw flawessy, I mean it. Wheather you're pushing a block to giving a guy who runs around all day a bunny hood, everything was well thought out. The perfect amount of third person when you needed it and first person when you needed it was my favorite aspect of the gameplay. Including your player is a very important part of a game. Nintendo did a great job with the sidequests making you feel like your not just some hero who saves them. But a person who interacts with them. Wheather you're bowling with bombchus or finding a dog for a heart peice, they work flawlessly witht the game.

*Graphics- 8.0
I know I'm gonna seem like I'm putting OoT on a pedastal for this rating because today if someone saw these graphics they would give it about a 4 or 5 if they're in a good mood. But I do not believe that graphics are important. If you gave me a Mirror's Edge with OoT graphics, I'd still love the game the same way. Overall, when you really put it into perspective the graphics for OoT are very nice. Putting gameplay and innovation first are important, and that's what Nintendo did. Even still, these graphics were top of the line in those times. I give it an even 8.0.

Story- 10.0
The story is probably one of the most famous video game stories out there. Also my favorite Zelda story, this massive piece of art contributes much to the Zelda timeline, a topic much discussed by Zelda fans. I'm not sure how else to say it other than the simple fact that it's perfect, and very original. Music/Sound- 10.0
My absolute favorite soundtrack for any game. Koji Kondo makes the music work perfectly for every place your in. If you look in my iTunes, you'll find most of the OoT soundtrack in there. I still listen to the CD for goodness sake. Hyrule Field, Zora's Domain, Hyrule Market, Inside the Great Deku Tree, and many more all work perfectly with the corrisponding location. Overall, a perfect 10.0. Overall- 10.0
Overall perfect game. Becoming the best selling game of the year in only one month, the revolutionary game still stands as the best one out there and the highest rated (and longest time being hieghest rated) game of all time. My favorite game, and if you don't have it, get it. If you haven't beaten it, what are you doing here? Start the N64 up!

*I personally believe that Graphics aren't a very important aspect to be a good game. Although it's good thing to have good graphics; it's not a bad thing to have bad graphics. Therefore the graphics score has little affect to the final score.
