When sleeping on a flat surface, (even a bed) always use some sort of object to elevate your head. (Like a pillow for example.) Why? Because if you don't, you'll be sleeping on your arms and cut the circulation off; waking up to an arm/arms that you can't control or even feel until blood starts to circulate in it.
